The first specimen was lot 28191 in Heritage sale 3031 (Dallas, January 2014), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. August Wilhelm Taler 1727-EPH, AU58 NGC, ear wear and toning, with very natural surfaces." The second specimen was lot 561 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €340 (about US$458 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM August Wilhelm, 1714-1731. Reichstaler 1725, Zellerfeld. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Augustus William, 1714-31, thaler of 1725, Zellerfeld mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This fairly scarce type was struck 1716-30.
