This specimen was lot 34387 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy: Tuscany. Leopold II Paolo 1832 MS66 NGC, Florence mint. Unbelievably well-preserved for its nearly 200-year-old age, suggesting careful storage almost immediately after it left the mint. Further tinged with the subtlest champagne hues and remarkably glassy throughout." This scarce type was struck 1831, 1832 and 1838. The paolo was one tenth of a francescone.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.75 g, 0.917 fine silver, 23-24 mm diameter.
