This specimen was lot 34061 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Victoria Shilling 1886 MS65 PCGS. A splendid gem unsurpassed at either NGC or PCGS in terms of technical grade, a charming aged silver patina visible over the surfaces." This subtype was struck for circulation 1879-87 and features the bust of the young queen Victoria. A similar bust was used starting in 1839; 1879 marks the date when the scheme of using die numbers was abandoned.

Recorded mintage: 2,087,000 + proofs.

Specification: 5.65 g, .925 fine silver.
