This specimen was lot 6963 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $223.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1892-CaMM. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. Tied with five examples for finest certified at either PCGS or NGC. Great luster with faint parchment hued tone." The Chihuahua mint struck eight reales 1831-95. Many of the early dates are rare but this one is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 2,527,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
