This specimen was lot 71286 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1854-C CE. Culiacan Mint. NGC AU-55. The sole example graded by NGC. A better date with abundant remaining field luster and gray to almond toning." This is a slightly better date of a slightly better mint. The Culiacan mint struck half reales 1846-49, 1852-63 and 1867-69.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, .903 fine silver, .049 troy oz ASW.
