Proof-70 Deep Cameo (PCGS)." The mint inaugurated the presidential dollar series in 2007. To honor the presidential spouses, half ounce gold coins were issued featuring each of them. Jefferson was long widowed when he was president, so the mint featured Robert Scot's draped bust of Liberty used on coins minted during his administration. A similar thing was done for Andrew Jackson and Martin van Buren.
