This specimen was lot 40387 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 5 Pounds, 2003. NGC PROOF-70 ULTRA CAMEO. Struck for the 50th (golden) Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation with a mintage of 1,896 pieces. Artistically styled with no visible imperfections over the surfaces." The catalog listing, specification and mintages reported below are complicated by the multiple formats of issue.

Recorded mintage: copper-nickel: 1,307,147 + 43,513 proofs; silver: 28,758; gold: 1,896.

Specification: 39.94 g, .917 fine gold.

Catalog reference: gold: Fr-469; S-4557; KM 1038b. copper-nickel: KM 1038; silver: KM 1038a.
