Geneva 1624-RG 1/4 thaler
This specimen was lot 5216 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$2,110 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, Dicken 1624, Genf. Mzz. R - G. Sehr selten. Fast sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 23, Zürich, Mai 2015, Los 3592. (Switzerland, city and canton of Geneva, dicken of 1624, Geneva mint. Very rare, About Very Fine.)"
Catalogued here as a dicken and in the literature as a "teston blanc", this issue of 1619-20 and 1624 is in the SCWC as a quarter thaler. Each name represents about the same value. Dickens were popular in the other cantons such as Zug and Chur.
