Sincona sale 98, lot 4251

This specimen was lot 4251 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,901 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1625, Genf. Mzz. HC (ligiert). Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Unregelmässiger Rand. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, half thaler of 1625, Geneva mint. Very rare, Very Fine, Uneven edge.)"

This type was struck 1621-30, 1633, 1638-41, 1657 and 1659. Other dates exist and all are rare.

Specifications: 13.5 g, silver, 34 mm diameter, this specimen 13.93 g.
