Sincona sale 98, lot 4250

This specimen was lot 4250 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$1,161 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 1/16 Taler zu 6 Sols 1624, Genf. An Stelle des Doppeladlers über dem Wappen die Wertbezeichnung . 6 | S . für 6 Sols. Rv. Mzz. G - R. Selten. Sehr schön. Gewellt. Exemplar der Slg. Kunzmann, Auktion SINCONA 44, Zürich, Oktober 2017, Los 5316. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, one sixteenth thaler of six sols, Geneva mint. This six sols, struck 1624 only, was worth one sixteenth thaler. The SCWC says another coin not marked "6 S" (KM A30, listed as a 1/16 thaler) was also struck in 1624. Both are rare.
