Peru 1770-L JM real

This specimen was lot 2104 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, pillar 1 real, Charles III, 1770 JM, ex-O'Brien. Broadly struck XF with flan flaw on edge, semi-lustrous fields with deep blue toning, a few marks. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection, with his tag." This type was struck for Charles III 1760-72. It is not rare but many of the dates are very scarce compared to their Mexican equivalents.
