This specimen was lot 41278 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 12 Mariengroschen, 1702. Zellerfeld Mint; mm: three stars. Rudolph August & Anton Ulrich. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1686-1703 and is uncommon. Twelve mariengroschen made one third of a thaler or half a gulden. No mintmaster appears on this coin.
