This specimen was lot 74621 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 1/4 Taler, 1702-RB. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August & Anton Ulrich. PCGS MS-63. A highly attractive and enticing minor, this piece presents a pair of wildmen as opposed to just one, with them signifying the joint reign of the Dukes. Exceedingly Choice and toned, with a great deal of brilliance residing in the fields. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Includes Westfaelische Auktionsgesekkschaft ticket as Lot # 1141." This type was struck 1691 and 1702 and is rather scarce. Mintmaster RB appears 1683-1711.
