This specimen was lot 548 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €500 (about US$674 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM Rudolf August und Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704. Reichstaler 1701, Goslar oder Zellerfeld. Eintrachtstaler. Fast vorzüglich. (duchies of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Rudolf Augustus and Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704, thaler of 1701, Goslar or Zellerfeld mint. About extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1688-1703 to celebrate the unity of the two brothers' joint rule of the duchy. Confusingly, the pre-1700 issues are catalogued as Dav-6395. A matching half thaler exists.
