This specimen was lot 64 in Schulman auction 388 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €4,800 (about US$6,764 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1/4 Zilveren dukaat, ZEELAND Provincie 1580 - 1795, 1779, Gold in goud geslagen op het gewicht van 2.5 dukaten. Type Ib. Staande ridder met Zeeuws wapen aan lint burcht MON: NOV: ARG: PRO: CONFCED: BELG: COM: ZEL. Kz. generaliteitswapen tussen lauwer- en palmtak, jaartal boven gevulde kroon. Kabelrand. Uit de Zeeuwse Leeuw collectie. RRR. Uiterst zeldzaam Kleine montagespoortjes. Prachtig +. (quarter silver ducat of 1779, province of Zeeland, off metal strike in gold of 2½ ducat weight, type Ib. Obverse: standing knight holds the provincial arms by a ribbon; reverse: crowned arms of the Generality flanked by laurel and palm branches, date above, reeded edge. From the Zeeland Lion collection, extremely rare. Minor traces of mounting, extremely fine or better.)"

The silver version was struck for circulation 1762-93 and the gold version shown here was struck for presentation 1773-82 and 1787. Zeeland was the only province to strike this denomination.

Specification: KM 99: 7.06 g, 0.873 fine silver; KM 99a: 8.35 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen gold, 8.01 g.
