This specimen was lot 30592 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "Wurzburg. Franz Ludwig von Erthal Goldgulden 1786, MS65 NGC. Obv. Robed bust of Bishop Franz Ludwig right. Rev. St. Killian standing, facing, with sword. Both sides show light adjustment marks. Otherwise the surfaces are mark-free and exhibit full original luster. Rare in this Gem condition. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman / B.G. Johnson." While ducats from Wurzburg were the standard 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, the goldgulden were only 3.25 g, .770 fine. This type is listed for 1786 only. The territory was annexed to Bavaria in 1803.
