Wurzburg 1773-MP thaler Dav-2902
This specimen was lot 5952 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €220 (about US$306 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRZBURG, BISTUM, Adam Friedrich von Seinsheim, 1755-1779. Konv.-Taler 1773, Würzburg. Sehr schön. (Germany, bishopric of Würzburg, Adam Frederick of Seinsheim, 1755-79, convention thaler of 1773, Würzburg mint. Very fine.)"
Adam Frederick was also bishop of Bamberg after 1757. Both territories were annexed to Bavaria in 1803. This type was struck 1773, 1775, 1776 and 1779. Several other thalers (Dav-2901A, Dav-2901B) were issued in Würzburg in 1773.
