Sincona sale 9, lot 4120

This specimen was lot 4120 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 1200 CHF (about US$1,518 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Württemberg, Königreich Wilhelm II. 1891-1918. 5 Mark 1913. Prachtvolle polierte Platte. FDC. (Kingdom of Württemberg, William II, 1891-1918, five mark of 1913, proof.)"

This type was struck intermittently 1892-1913. It is common, especially the 1913, but proofs are scarce.

Recorded mintage: 401,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
