Sincona sale 18, lot 1621

This specimen was lot 1621 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 3,000 (about US$3,953 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"10 Gulden 1824. Stuttgart. Selten. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Württemberg, ten gulden of 1824, Stuttgart mint, rare, extremely fine.)"

This denomination was struck in Wurttemberg 1824-25 only and is rare. The next gold issue would be the ten and twenty mark of 1872.
