Künker sale 335, lot 4901

This specimen was lot 4901 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €750 (about US$982 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. DIE ÖSTERREICHISCHEN STANDESHERREN, WINDISCHGRÄTZ. Josef Niklas, 1744-1802. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1777, Wien. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich/Stempelglanz. (Holy Roman Empire, counts of Windischgratz. Joseph Nicholas, 1744-1802, half thaler of 1777, Vienna mint. Fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

The count issued a twenty kreuzer and a ducat in 1777, as well as this half thaler.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 14.01 g.
