Sincona sale 38, lot 1886

This specimen was lot 1886 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 6,000 CHF (about US$7,196 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Windischgrätz, Fürstentum, Leopold Victor Johann, 1727-1746 Dukat 1732. Wien. Von grösster Seltenheit. Vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Windischgratz, Leopold Victor John, 1727-46, ducat of 1732, Vienna mint. Of the highest rarity. Extremely fine.)"

This type was struck for the prince 1732-33 and is indeed rare. It is accompanied by an extremely rare five ducats.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.46 g.
