This specimen was lot 1028 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it sold for €140 (about US$177 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, WESTPHALIE, Jérôme Napoléon (1807-1813), AR 2/3 Taler, 1810C, Clausthal. Très Beau. (Germany, kingdom of Westphalia, Jerome Napoleon (1807-13), silver 2/3 thaler of 1810, Clausthal mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck in Clausthal 1809-10. This two-thirds thaler or gulden was struck with the obverse legend "HIERONYMUS NAPOLEON" (KM 106, shown here) OR "NAPOLEON HIERONYMUS" (KM 89), with the second quite a bit more available. Altho denominated as two-thirds of a thaler, it had only five ninths of the silver of a convention thaler such as KM 112. At the Congress of Vienna, the area was restored to its former lords, Hannover and Prussia.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rather scarce.

Specification: 13.08 g, .994 fine silver.
