This specimen was lot 47263 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. West Friesland. Gulden, 1791. PCGS MS-61." It is from a type struck in Westfriesland throughout the eighteenth century until 1794, when the United Provinces were invaded and occupied by the French. This subtype (KM 97.5) is known for 1760-94. The design features the Netherlands virgin with hat of freedom, with spear, leaning on altar with bible. The obverse legend hanc tuemur hac nitimur means, "on her we lean, it is she whom we protect." Numerous overdates are recorded for 1791.
