This specimen was lot 3732 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $540.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands - West Friesland. 14 Gulden, 1751. Armored knight on horse. Reverse: Crowned arms. Removed from jewelry and polished. About Very Fine." This expensive type is listed for 1749-51 and 1760-63. It was the largest gold coin regularly issued in the United Provinces.
