Lion Daalder, 1654. NGC MS-62. Incredible quality for these types that can be considered among the earliest forms of European coinage utilized in Colonial America. Typical weakness in some areas, but free from handling and retaining a good deal of brilliance." The leeuwendaalder and its half are famous in the numismatic world as being some of the worst struck coins in history. This type is recorded in the SCWC for Westfriesland with various mintmarks for 1606-1700. This mintmark was used 1649-1700.
