This specimen was lot 75058 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Waldeck-Pyrmont. 2 Mariengroschen, 1823-FW. Arolsen Mint. Georg Friedrich Heinrich. NGC MS-62." This type was struck 1820-25 along with a one mariengroschen. It is somewhat common in circulated condition.
Recorded mintage: unknown but the most common date.
Specification: 2.39 g, 0.375 fine silver, 18.9 mm diameter, lettered edge.
