Waldeck-Pyrmont 1813-FW thaler Dav-924
This specimen was lot 5923 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,300 (about US$3,201 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WALDECK, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1713 FÜRSTENTUM, Georg, 1805-1812-1813. Kronentaler 1813. Mit Randschrift: È WALDECKISCHER È KRONTHALER È; RR Min. berieben und justiert, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Waldeck, George, 1805-13, crown thaler of 1813, with edge lettering "++WALDECKISCHER++KRONTHALER++". Very rare, minor cleaning and adjustment marks, about extremely rare.)"
This type was struck in 1813 to the Kronenthaler standard with many varieties of edge lettering. All the varieties are rare. Waldeck surrendered its sovereignty to Prussia in 1867.
