This specimen was lot 34081 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $10,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Utrecht. Provincial gold 2 Ducat 1794 MS67 NGC. Among the most handsome double Ducats not only within this very sale, but among those currently witnessed at any grading service. To handle an MS67 of any issue in this vintage is a feat, but to experience it in gold makes for an especially rare treat. As close to perfect as one is likely to see for the type, laden with an abundance of pie polish that gently obscures what would doubtlessly be endless mirrors. For the denomination, NGC has handled just a single other representative this fine, creating quite the opportunity for an astute collector." This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century until 1794 but remains expensive.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 7 g, 0.986 fine gold.

Catalog reference: Fr-283, KM 42.2, Delm-962.
