This specimen was lot 73303 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Utrecht. Duit, 1792. NGC MS-67 Brown. A highly attractive superb GEM boasting a bold strike with smooth satiny surfaces. Plenty of remaining original mint red radiates from the devices with the smooth chocolate fields exhibit an iridescent blue sheen." This type was struck 1739-68, 1780, 1783-93 and has a low catalog value. Presentation strikes were made in silver and gold for some years, including dates for which no circulating examples exist.
