Jean Elsen sale 157, lot 1130

This specimen was lot 1130 in Jean Elsen sale 157 (Brussels, December 2023), where it sold for €260 (about US$335 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, UTRECHT, Provincie, AV dukaat met de ridder, 1757. Vz/ Staande ridder n.r. met zwaard en pijlenbundel. Kz/ Tekst in versierd vierkant. Klemspoortjes. Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Utrecht, gold ducat of the knight of 1757. Obverse: standing knight with sword and bundle of arrows; reverse: text on tablet. Crimp marks, Very Fine.)"

This type is recorded from Utrecht 1679-1794; each province of the Netherlands issued its own coins.
