This specimen was lot 34999 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Utrecht. Provincial gold Ducat 1645 MS62 NGC, A visually alluring representative whose red-gold composition and patina yield a striking display in conjunction with sleek mint luster that enhances the surfaces. A type usually seen in circulated conditional states and rarely located so fine." This subtype was struck 1587-1624, 1629-48. Later subtypes, with different mintmarks, include KM 7.2 (struck 1649-74), KM 7.3 (struck 1674-76) and KM 7.4 (struck 1679-1700).
