This specimen was lot 78259 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $870. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Utrecht. Ducat, 1596. Utrecht Mint. PCGS EF-45. Some minor flan waviness is observed, but this specimen otherwise displays very little in the way of circulation and glistens with alluring brilliance. From the Richard August Collection." This ducat was struck by the hammer 1586-1648. Ducats were struck until the end of the republic without significant change although the later issues from the eighteenth century were milled.
