This type was struck in 1994 at Rio at Janeiro and in 1998 at Paris. Uruguayan coinage was sporadic in the twentieth century and many issues are rare; this one is common. Uruguay fell victim to the same hyperinflation which befell her neighbors Argentina and Brazil and the coinage was reformed twice. The example shown was minted after the coinage reform of 1993.

Recorded mintage: 40,000,000.

Specification: 3 g, stainless steel, 21 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 106.
