This issue is a late date of a type issued 1840-1907. Despite the modest mintage, the coin is readily available as it circulated little, currency having superseded gold for large transactions. No branch mint issues exist between the 1879-S and the 1915-D.
Specification: 4.18 g, 0.900 fine gold, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
