This specimen was lot 459 in Scotsman's Midwest Summer Sale (St. Louis, July 2012), where it sold for $____. The catalog description noted, "1900-S PCGS MS-64 CAC. Obvious prooflike characteristics dominate the obverse to such an extent that this dime could easily be mistaken as such at first glance. The reverse is normally lustrous. In line with the cameo aspect, the details on both sides have been struck up with outstanding precision. Platinum-white with a minor diagonal grey streak across the reverse." The Barber dime was issued in large numbers 1892-1916 from Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco and Denver. This San Francisco mint issue is common in all grades tho better than the Philadelphia mint product.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Charles Barber.
