United States 1902 dime

Künker Auction 425, lot 1822

This specimen was lot 1822 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €160 (about US$227 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN AUS ÜBERSEE · VEREINIGTE STAATEN VON AMERIKA. Föderation. 1 Dime 1902, Philadelphia. Liberty. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 62. (United States, one dime of 1902, Philadelhpia mint, liberty head. Handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated, graded NGC MS62.)"

The Barber dime was issued in large numbers 1892-1916 from Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco and Denver. This Philadelphia mint issue is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 21,380,000 plus 777 proofs.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Charles Barber, this specimen 2,51 g.
