This issue is common for the type. This "with motto" variety was struck 1866-91. Arrows were added to the date 1873-74 to indicate a slight change to the weight, from 6.22 g to 6.25 g. The Carson City mint struck quarters 1870-78, of which only the 1876-78 issues can be considered affordable.
Recorded mintage: 4,944,000.
Specification: 6.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .180 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, designed by Christian Gobrecht.
