Wm. Rosenblum sale 44B, lot 328

This specimen was lot 328 in Wm. Rosenblum sale 44B (Colorado Springs, December 2014), where it sold for $140. The catalog description noted, "Uganda, Republic. 1981 500 Shillings. Facing bust of Dr. Milton Obote/Elephants. Wildlife series. Choice Proof in original blue case of issue." The business strikes are 0.500 fine but the proofs are sterling (.925 fine). It accompanied a gold 5000 shillings (KM 25).

Recorded mintage: 700 plus 700 proofs.

Specification: 136 g, 0.925 fine silver, 4.01 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
