This specimen was lot 1976 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 60 para, Kostantiniye, AH1223 year 19, sixth monetary standard, lustrous Unc, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." This type was struck years 16-21. Debasement was continuous throughout the sultan's reign and coinage types were usually shortlived. Sixty para equalled 1½ kuruş.
