This specimen was lot 1824 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mustafa IV, 1807-1808, AV 1/2 zeri mahbub, Kostantiniye, AH1222 year 1, pierced, VF." Turkish issues before the reform of 1839 are a mess of constantly changing denominations as the government attempted to debase its way out of perpetual bankruptcy. Matters were regularized in the reign of Abdul Mejid, with gold coins issued in multiples of the kuruş. The coinage from Mustafa's brief reign is scanty and expensive. This half zeri mahbub was struck years 1 and 2.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.2 g, gold, this specimen 1.11 g.
