This specimen was lot 75806 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY. Zolota, AH 1171 Year 87 (1774). Constantinople Mint. Mustafa III. PCGS MS-63. Choice and elegantly toned, this silver piece gleams with underlying luster between its crisp frosty legends." Turkish issues before the reform of 1839 are a mess of constantly changing denominations as the government attempted to debase its way out of perpetual bankruptcy. The zolota was ¾ kurush or 30 para. This type was struck AH 1182-1187.
