This specimen was part of lot 31268 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), which sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "Tunisia: Republic 4-Piece Uncertified gold "Republic Anniversary" Proof Set AH 1387 (1967), 1) 2 Dinars, KM 286; 2) 5 Dinars, KM 287; 3) 10 Dinars, KM 288; 4) 20 Dinars, KM 289; Struck for the 10th anniversary of the Republic. Sold with case of issue and four accompanying COAs. Total AGW approx. 2.03 oz." This rare issue was accompanied by gold two, ten, twenty and forty dinars. Habib Bourgiba helped obtain independence for Tunisia from France and survived as its ruler until overthrown in 1987.
