Stephen Album sale 50, lot 2770

This specimen was lot 2770 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH INDIA: TRANQUEBAR: Christian VI, 1730-1746, AE kas, 1732, crowned C 6 monogram, divided date // crowned Norge lion on curved battle-axe; bold strike, strong VF, RR, ex Solar Collection." The Danish fort at Tranquebar was sold to the British in 1845. During the reign of Christian VI, the lead cash was dropped in favor of a copper coin. As the one and two cash were reduced in weight, the four cash was added to supplement the denominations. This type is listed for 1731-32 and undated.
