This specimen was lot 2768 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $108. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH INDIA: TRANQUEBAR: Frederick IV, 1699-1730, AE 2 kas, ND, crowned double F4 // crowned DOC monogram, denomination "2 kas" below, nice Fine, R, ex Solar Collection." The Danish fort at Tranquebar was sold to the British in 1845. This copper two cash was struck in many varieties during the reign of Frederik IV (died 1730). It replaced the lead cash around 1689-91, being more durable and less poisonous.
