This specimen was lot 5049 in Goldberg sale 74 (Los Angeles, June 2013), where it sold for $172.50 including buyer's fees. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland. 1 Franc, 1940-B. Lovely peripheral iridescent toning. NGC graded Specimen 67." This type was struck 1878-1967 in silver and is still in production today in copper-nickel form. Few dates after 1936 are scarce and this one is common.

Recorded mintage: 2,003,000.

Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .134 troy oz ASW.
