This specimen was lot 482 in Goldberg sale 136 (Los Angeles, September 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland. ½ Franc, 1940-B. Pop 41; 1 in 68+; 4 in 69. Sparkling gem. PCGS graded MS-68." This type was struck 1878-1967 in silver and is still in production today in copper-nickel form. Few dates after 1936 are scarce and this one is common.

Recorded mintage: 2,002,000 plus specimens.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .067 troy oz ASW, 18.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
