Stephen Album sale 50, lot 3302

This specimen was lot 3302 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND: Confederation, 5 rappen, 1888-B, bold strike, NGC graded MS65." The SCWC records the 1896 as a key date for the one, two and five rappen. The 1888 is fairly common for an early date. The type was struck 1879-1980 without change.

Recorded mintage: 1,500,000.

Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 17.15 mm diameter.
