Sincona sale 38, lot 1941

This specimen was lot 1941 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$216 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEDEN, Oscar II. 1872-1907 10 Kronor 1883. Stockholm. FDC. (kingdom of Sweden, Oscar II, 1872-1907, ten kronor of 1883, Stockholm mint. Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck in limited numbers 1876-83, 1894-95 but the release of the hoard of the Bank of Sweden in the late nineties made this type common in all grades. This date comes with and without the initials "EB".

Recorded mintage: 149,000.
