Sweden 1829 1/2 skilling
This specimen was lot 11137 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Copenhagen, June 2026), where it sold for €69 (about US$80). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/2 Skilling, 1829. Stockholm Mint. Karl XIV Johan. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922)." In the reform of 1830, the skilling, formerly 1/48 riksdaler, became 1/128 riksdaler. Prior to that, the copper coinage included one, half and quarter skilling pieces struck 1819-30. This is a common date. The denomination was terminated in 1833.
