Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 78499

This specimen was lot 78499 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Ore, 1731. Stockholm Mint. Frederik I. PCGS AU-55. From the Richard August Collection." This type was struck 1730-50 and is common in worn condition. Numista says all were made at the Avesta mint except for some of the 1737's. Billon ore (KM 382) also exist for 1731. One mark was eight öre and one riksdaler specie (Dav-1724) was twelve mark.

Recorded mintage: 1,574,400.

Specification: 14.2 g, copper, 29.75 mm diameter.
